First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding choline to a special peanut-based food helps brain development in children with severe malnutrition. About 1,500 children in Malawi, ages 6 months to 5 years, will receive either standard food or food with extra choline. Researchers will measure thinking and motor skills to see if choline makes a difference.
