First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests whether using chlorhexidine (an antiseptic) to flush the surgical area during colorectal cancer surgery works better than using saline (salt water) to prevent infections and other complications. About 532 adults aged 18-85 with operable colorectal cancer will take part. The goal is to find a simple way to improve recovery after surgery.
