Warning labels on sweeteners: do they help parents choose?

NCT ID NCT06842693

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at whether warning labels about non-nutritive sweeteners (artificial sweeteners) help parents in Chile identify which products contain them and choose healthier drinks for their children. About 3,900 parents were shown different label designs on similar products and asked to pick one for their child. The goal was to see if the labels influence buying decisions toward unsweetened options.
