Scientists search for blood clues linking childhood trauma to adult suicide risk
NCT ID NCT04923685
Summary
This study aims to understand if childhood trauma increases the risk for depression and suicidal thoughts by looking for biological markers in the blood. Researchers will collect blood samples from 450 adults with and without depression to analyze tiny genetic molecules called microRNAs, which can change in response to stress. The goal is to find biological signatures that could improve future mental health care, not to provide treatment in this study.
