New hope for kids with tough cancers: gentler chemo tested
NCT ID NCT01760226
Summary
This early study tested a modified chemotherapy method for children with aggressive B-cell cancers like lymphoma. The goal was to see if a slower, continuous infusion of drugs over four days, with doses adjusted based on the child's blood cell counts, could be safe and maintain the high cure rates seen in adults. The study aimed to reduce severe side effects while effectively treating the cancer.
