Doctors measure Kids' fingers to find safer way to pick surgery tubes
NCT ID NCT07349953
Summary
This study aimed to see if measuring a child's finger size could be a good way to choose the right breathing tube for surgery. Researchers observed 103 children under 8 years old who needed a breathing tube for planned surgery. They compared the tube sizes chosen using standard age-based formulas with the sizes that actually fit best, and checked if finger measurements could predict the correct size.
