New hope for toddlers with rare brain cancers: extra chemo shows promise

Summary
This study tests whether adding extra chemotherapy (intrathecal topotecan and maintenance pills) after standard high-dose chemo is safe and doable for children under 6 with high-risk embryonal brain tumors. About 15 children will receive the additional treatment to see if it can be given without too many side effects. The goal is to improve cancer control, but ongoing treatment is needed, so this is not a cure.
