First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether chewing sugar-free gum during colonoscopy bowel prep can help people feel less nausea, bloating, and discomfort. About 100 adults aged 45-75 scheduled for a colonoscopy will be randomly assigned to chew gum or not. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost trick improves how well people tolerate the prep and how satisfied they are with the process.
