First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at whether chewing sugar-free gum during colonoscopy bowel preparation can help people feel less nausea, bloating, and discomfort. About 100 adults aged 45-75 scheduled for a colonoscopy will either chew gum or not during their prep. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost trick makes the process more tolerable and encourages more people to complete their screening.
