Can better teeth lead to a sharper mind? study investigates link
NCT ID NCT04458207
Summary
This study is investigating whether fixing chewing problems with dental work can improve memory and thinking skills in older adults. Researchers will enroll 80 participants aged 65-80 who need dental rehabilitation and randomly assign them to receive treatment either right away or after a delay. They will use brain scans (MRI) and memory tests before and after treatment to see if improving chewing function causes positive changes in the brain and cognition.
