Do ICU patients need CT scans for breathing failure? study says maybe not.
NCT ID NCT07256860
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks back at 50 ICU patients with respiratory failure to see if a chest CT scan finds anything new that a simple chest X-ray missed. Moving critically ill patients for a CT scan can be risky and costly. The goal is to find out how often the CT actually changes treatment, which could help avoid unnecessary scans.
