New hope for esophageal cancer: testing immunotherapy with standard chemoradiation

Summary
This study aims to find the best treatment plan for people with esophageal or esophagogastric junction cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. It will test adding immunotherapy (PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies) or targeted drugs to the standard chemoradiotherapy. About 2000 adults with stage I-IVa cancer will be followed to see which combination improves survival and reduces side effects.
