New study may offer needle-free alternative to surgery for bladder cancer patients

Summary
This study compares a new approach using a chemotherapy drug (MMC) directly into the bladder to standard surgery for people with recurrent low-grade bladder cancer. About 272 adults with small tumors will be randomly assigned to either the drug treatment or surgery followed by standard therapy. The goal is to see if the drug approach leads to fewer cancer returns over two years.
