New bladder cancer study could reduce need for repeated surgeries

Summary
This study tests whether a chemotherapy drug (Mitomycin C) placed directly into the bladder can replace surgery for people with a common, low-grade form of bladder cancer that keeps coming back. About 272 adults with recurrent Ta low-grade tumors will either get the chemo treatment or standard surgery plus additional medication. The goal is to see if the chemo-only approach leads to fewer cancer returns over two years.
