NCT ID NCT02633202

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding chemotherapy to modern radiation therapy (IMRT) is necessary for people with intermediate-risk nasopharyngeal cancer. 338 patients were randomly assigned to receive either radiation alone or radiation plus the chemotherapy drug cisplatin. The goal was to see if skipping chemo still provides good cancer control and reduces side effects.
