First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests a traditional Chinese herbal formula, Chaizhi Hewei Decoction, for people with non-erosive reflux disease (NERD), a type of chronic heartburn without visible damage to the esophagus. The trial will involve 66 adults aged 18-70 who have not yet started treatment. Participants will receive either the herbal formula or a placebo for a set period, and researchers will track symptom changes, quality of life, and side effects. The goal is to see if this herbal treatment can reduce or replace the need for standard acid-reducing medications.
