Blood test may spare kids with leukemia from painful bone marrow needles
NCT ID NCT07483476
First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether a blood test that looks for tiny bits of tumor DNA can be used instead of a bone marrow biopsy to monitor how well treatment is working in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). About 205 children and teens with newly diagnosed ALL will give blood samples at key points during their treatment. The goal is to see if the blood test results match the standard bone marrow test results, which could lead to less invasive and more frequent monitoring in the future.
