New study tracks lung function in pregnant women with cystic fibrosis
NCT ID NCT04828382
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study follows 285 pregnant women with cystic fibrosis to see how CFTR modulators affect lung function during and after pregnancy. Researchers will measure breathing capacity before, during, and up to two years after delivery. The goal is to better understand how these medications impact both mother and baby.
What this could mean

- CFTR modulators
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could help doctors better manage cystic fibrosis treatment during pregnancy to protect both mother and baby.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly test new therapies. Results may not apply to all patients.
