New mammogram technique aims to spot breast cancer faster in women with nipple discharge

NCT ID NCT05056844

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a special mammogram called CESM, which uses a dye injected into a vein to make breast tissue and blood vessels show up more clearly. The goal is to see if CESM is better than standard mammography at finding the cause of nipple discharge and detecting breast cancer. Researchers hope it will find more cancers and reduce the need for unnecessary biopsies. The study involves 66 women aged 25-85 with abnormal nipple discharge.
