Neck stretching showdown: real vs. fake traction for nerve pain

NCT ID NCT05952167

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study tests whether intensive neck traction (stretching) reduces pain and disability in people with cervical radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the neck) better than a placebo (fake) traction. About 206 adults with this condition will receive either real or placebo traction over several sessions. The goal is to see if the traction itself provides real relief beyond the placebo effect.
