Fighting fear: social media aims to boost cervical cancer screening

NCT ID NCT01287871

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a social media campaign called 'End Stigma End Fear, End Cervical Cancer' can reduce stigma and encourage Pap tests among underserved women in Southern California and Trinidad and Tobago. About 336 women who need a Pap test will be followed for 3 months to see if more exposure to the campaign leads to less stigma and more screening. The goal is to break down cultural barriers that keep women from getting tested.
