Mailed self-test kits boost cervical cancer screening in hard-to-reach women
NCT ID NCT02255084
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at two ways to help women who have not been screened for cervical cancer get tested. Over 3,600 women aged 30-65 either received a home-mailed self-sampling kit for HPV testing or an invitation to visit their general practitioner. The goal was to see which method led to more women completing screening. The study did not test a new treatment but aimed to improve screening participation.
