First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at why some people with type 2 diabetes feel nerve pain while others do not. Researchers will measure pain responses in 128 adults aged 18 to 80 who have had diabetes for at least one year. The goal is to better understand central sensitization—a condition where the nervous system becomes overly sensitive to pain—in both painful and painless forms of diabetic nerve damage.
