First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a more accurate blood pressure reading from the aorta (central BP) instead of the usual arm cuff helps manage hypertension in people with advanced chronic kidney disease. 116 participants were randomly assigned to either central or standard BP targets. The goal was to see if this approach is practical and reduces artery stiffness after one year.
