Summary

This study tested a new drug, centanafadine, for adults with major depression who hadn't responded well to at least one prior treatment. 337 people took either the new drug alone, the new drug plus a standard antidepressant, or a placebo. The goal was to see if centanafadine could reduce depression symptoms over 6 weeks. The trial is now complete.
