First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a condition called celiac axis stenosis (a narrowing of a major artery) increases the risk of complications after pancreatic cancer surgery. Researchers are following 99 adults who had a pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple procedure) to track their recovery. The goal is to see if this artery issue leads to more problems, which could help doctors plan safer surgeries in the future.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If this study finds a clear link, it could help surgeons identify high-risk patients before surgery and take steps to reduce complications.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only looks for a connection, so it won't directly improve outcomes. Results may not apply to all patients.
