Engineered immune cells aim to clear leukemia before transplant

NCT ID NCT06197672

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests a new treatment for adults and teens with a hard-to-treat form of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that has come back or not responded to standard therapy. The treatment uses specially engineered immune cells (CAR T-cells) that target a protein called CD4 on the leukemia cells. The goal is to safely wipe out remaining leukemia so patients can then receive a stem cell transplant, which offers a chance for long-term control. About 30 participants will receive the cells in increasing doses to find the safest and most effective dose.
