Supercharged immune cells take on advanced melanoma in new trial

Summary
This study tests a new way to treat advanced melanoma by boosting a patient's own immune cells (TIL) with a molecule called CD40L. After removing a tumor, the cells are grown in a lab, strengthened, and given back to the patient along with chemotherapy and short-term IL-2. The goal is to see if this approach can shrink tumors and control the disease in people who have not responded to standard treatments.
