Can talk therapy reset your sleep and stress system?
NCT ID NCT07156383
Summary
This study is testing how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a proven talk therapy for sleep problems, works to improve sleep. Researchers want to understand if the therapy helps by calming the body's main stress response system, which produces the hormone cortisol. They will follow 150 adults with chronic insomnia, tracking their sleep and stress hormone levels before, during, and after therapy.
