Talking it out: CBT may sharpen minds in schizophrenia
NCT ID NCT07609953
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether adding cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to standard medication (risperidone) could improve cognitive function in 42 adults with stable schizophrenia. Participants either received risperidone alone or risperidone plus 10 weekly CBT sessions. Researchers measured changes in thinking skills and a blood marker called BDNF after 10 weeks.
