Gut bacteria boosts immunotherapy in kidney cancer trial
NCT ID NCT07037004
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether adding a live bacteria product called CBM588 to the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab can help prevent kidney cancer from coming back after surgery. About 62 adults with high-risk clear cell or sarcomatoid kidney cancer will receive either pembrolizumab alone or pembrolizumab plus CBM588. The goal is to see if changing the gut microbiome improves the immune response and reduces recurrence.
