CBD and breastfeeding: new study to measure risks for infants

NCT ID NCT06589258

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at how much CBD (a legal, non-addictive substance) passes from a mother's blood into her breast milk and whether it can be found in her baby's urine. Researchers will measure CBD levels in mothers' blood and milk at different times after birth. The goal is to understand the possible dose a breastfed child might receive. About 60 breastfeeding mothers who use CBD will take part.
