CBD shows promise for better sleep and less drinking in new study

NCT ID NCT07527338

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking cannabidiol (CBD) every night for 4 weeks can improve sleep quality and reduce alcohol cravings and drinking in adults who have poor sleep and drink at risky levels. About 58 participants will take either CBD or a placebo, wear activity monitors, and complete sleep tests and weekly check-ins. The goal is to see if CBD is safe and effective for helping with both sleep and alcohol use.
