CBD shows promise in opioid recovery: major trial underway

Summary

This phase 3 trial tests whether adding cannabidiol (CBD) to standard opioid addiction treatment can reduce cravings and prevent relapse. About 450 adults with opioid use disorder who are already on methadone or buprenorphine will receive CBD or a placebo for 24 weeks. The goal is to see if CBD helps them stay opioid-free longer.
