Heart rhythm fix after valve repair: could ablation save lives?
NCT ID NCT07380932
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) who have already had a procedure to fix a leaky mitral valve. Researchers want to see if doing a catheter ablation (a procedure to correct the heartbeat) is better than standard care at preventing serious problems like stroke, heart failure, or death. About 956 participants will be randomly assigned to either get the ablation or continue usual treatment, and they will be followed for several years.
