First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking catechins (natural compounds found in green tea) by mouth or applying them to the skin can help prevent or treat radiation burns in cancer patients. About 162 adults undergoing radiation therapy will receive either catechins or a placebo, in addition to standard care. The goal is to see if these compounds reduce skin redness, pain, and long-term scarring.
