Eye surgeons test gentler pressure to ease cataract surgery pain
NCT ID NCT07223866
Summary
This study aims to find out if using a lower, more natural pressure inside the eye during cataract surgery leads to less pain and discomfort for patients. Researchers will compare the standard high-pressure technique to a new low-pressure method in 85 people needing surgery on both eyes. The main goal is to see which approach requires fewer pain-relief medications during the operation and results in lower patient pain scores.
