New lens offers hope for clearer vision in cataract patients with keratoconus
NCT ID NCT07338708
First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested whether a premium lens (Vivity EDOF) can improve vision in 10 adults with both cataracts and early-stage keratoconus, a condition that thins the cornea. Participants received the lens in both eyes during standard cataract surgery. The main goal was to see if they achieved good distance vision (20/25 or better) three months later, and to check for improvements in intermediate and near vision, contrast sensitivity, and overall satisfaction.
