First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at whether the color of the artificial lens used in cataract surgery affects sleep and mood. 400 adults aged 60-90 received either a white or yellow implant in each eye. Researchers measured changes in sleep time, sleep quality, and mood two months after surgery. The goal was to see if filtering blue light (yellow implant) helps maintain a healthy sleep cycle.
