Summary
This study tests a training program called CASCADE for family caregivers of people newly diagnosed with advanced cancer. The goal is to see which parts of the training best help caregivers support their loved one in making medical decisions. 256 caregivers will receive different combinations of training sessions, communication coaching, and decision guides. The study measures how much conflict caregivers feel about decisions, as well as the patient's distress and quality of life.
