First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a simple neck ultrasound done before anesthesia can predict a dangerous drop in blood pressure after anesthesia in women having gynecologic cancer surgery. Researchers measured blood flow in the carotid artery and tracked blood pressure changes in 91 patients. The goal was to find a non-invasive way to identify high-risk patients and improve safety during surgery.
