First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether treating depression in caregivers (parents or guardians) of children with asthma could improve the child's asthma control and quality of life. Over one year, 205 caregivers with major depression and their children (ages 7-17) with persistent asthma were followed. Researchers measured changes in caregiver depression and child asthma symptoms to see if improvements in the caregiver's mental health led to better asthma outcomes for the child.
