New scanner could replace invasive heart tests

NCT ID NCT07472634

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested a new, non-invasive imaging platform (Cardiolens) to diagnose blocked heart arteries in 150 adults with suspected chronic coronary syndrome. The platform combines CT scans with computer simulations to see if a blockage is serious enough to need treatment. The goal was to see if it could accurately find significant blockages, potentially reducing the need for invasive procedures like catheterization.
