New heart scan could replace invasive tests for artery blockages

NCT ID NCT07472634

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested a new non-invasive imaging platform (Cardiolens) to diagnose significant blockages in heart arteries in 150 adults with suspected chronic coronary syndrome. The platform uses CT scans and computer simulations to assess blood flow, aiming to reduce the need for invasive catheter procedures. Results were compared to standard diagnostic methods to see if the new approach is accurate enough to guide treatment decisions.
