First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special heart MRI scan (T1 mapping) can accurately diagnose cardiac amyloidosis, a condition where abnormal proteins build up in the heart. Researchers studied 112 older adults with heart failure and thickened heart walls. The goal was to see if this scan works as well as the standard method for detecting the disease.
