New MRI test may detect rare heart disease without a biopsy
NCT ID NCT04862273
First seen May 13, 2026 ยท Last updated May 13, 2026
Summary
This study tested a special heart MRI technique called T1 mapping to see if it can accurately diagnose cardiac amyloidosis, a condition where abnormal proteins build up in the heart. Researchers studied 112 older adults with heart failure and thickened heart walls. The goal was to see if this MRI method could replace the standard, more invasive diagnostic test.
