Heart CT scans may spot clots missed by standard tests
NCT ID NCT07165093
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study combined data from nearly 4,000 stroke patients to see how often a heart CT scan finds blood clots that standard ultrasound might miss. Researchers looked at how well this quick scan, done during the initial stroke workup, detects clot sources in the heart. The goal is to improve diagnosis and guide treatment for stroke caused by heart clots.
