Heart check or frailty score? new study aims to predict hip surgery survival in seniors

NCT ID NCT07490184

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks back at five years of medical records from older adults (60+) who had hip or other bone surgery after a fall or injury. Researchers want to see if a simple frailty score or a heart test before surgery better predicts who does well afterward. The goal is to improve care for elderly trauma patients, not to test a new treatment.
