New scan aims to predict heart risks in rare disease

NCT ID NCT07154381

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a special type of PET/MRI scan can predict serious heart events in people with cardiac amyloidosis, a condition where abnormal proteins build up in the heart. Researchers will scan 25 adults and then follow them to see who has a major heart problem like heart failure or death. The goal is to learn if the scan can help doctors better predict and manage the disease.
