Can tweaking Parkinson's meds prevent fainting? small study aims to find out.

NCT ID NCT06831500

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether changing the amount of carbidopa in Parkinson's medication can help with a common problem: a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up, which can cause dizziness or fainting. About 36 people with Parkinson's disease or multiple system atrophy (MSA) will try different carbidopa/levodopa ratios. The main goal is to see if a larger, more definitive study is possible, not yet to prove a treatment works.
